Dental fillings can restore the function and integrity of your teeth. Here at All Dental Group, we can place dental fillings for patients who need them for a variety of reasons.
Dental Filling Procedure
When you visit our office in Miami Lakes, FL, our dentist will gently examine your teeth to make an accurate diagnosis. Most of our patients who require dental fillings typically come to us with complaints of toothache. There are also plenty of cases where patients come in for a routine dental cleaning and the dentist discovers that dental filling is necessary.
If you have a cavity, we will first remove the decayed part of the tooth. Before putting the filling material, the dentist will apply a local anesthetic to numb the gums. Then a drill, laser or air abrasion instrument will be used to take away the decayed portion of the teeth.
Afterwards, we will check to find out if all decay has been removed and then clean the area to make sure bacteria and debris are removed. The filling is then added after. Once the filling has been applied and dried, our dentist will polish your teeth.
If you’re worried about the procedure, please take note that our staff is highly trained to be gentle and we will ensure that you are comfortable all throughout.
Why You May Need Dental Fillings
Patients usually require a filling when there is tooth decay and it has led to a cavity forming on the surface of the tooth. If a dental filling isn’t used, this cavity can get worse. It can lead to a painful toothache and then eventually an abscess. The abscess can cause more serious dental problems like bone loss if the dental cavity isn’t treated.
There are also plenty of cases where a missing tooth is caused by external trauma and there are even instances where a tooth is deliberately removed for the sole reason of improving the aesthetics or physical integrity of the patient’s bite or smile.
Our office’s main goal is to take good care of our patients by providing them with topnotch dental treatments and solutions.
We also make it a point to educate our patients of the importance of good oral hygiene. When you maintain a clean and healthy bite, you’ll always be confident with your smile. Great dental health plays a big role in our overall health.
