Do you want to have picture perfect teeth? Dental veneers may be the solution. Veneers are very thin, custom-made shells created from materials that have the color of human teeth. They’re designed to cover the surface of teeth in order to improve their appearance. Veneers are bonded to the front part of each tooth and can greatly alter its size, color and shape.
All Dental Group can provide patients who have different dental needs with topnotch dental services. Our highly skilled dentist will work with you one-on-one and provide a custom dental solution that’s right for your needs.
Problems Veneers can Solve
When you schedule an appointment with us at our office in Miami Lakes, FL, we will take a look at your teeth and advise you on the best dental solution for you. Veneers are typically used to fix problems such as discolored teeth. The discoloration is usually from cases like root canal treatment, stains from tetracycline or other medications, the presence of big resin fillings that can discolor teeth or excessive fluoride.
Veneers can also greatly improve the appearance of teeth that are already worn down. Broken or chipped teeth can be covered by veneers, as well as teeth that are uneven, irregularly shaped or misaligned. Other uses of veneers are for teeth that have gaps between them.
How Veneers are Made
Expect to make about three trips to our office for your veneers. The first visit will involve consultation and the second and third visits are for applying the veneers.
During the consultation visit, our dentist will discuss the outcomes you want for this procedure. Your teeth will also be gently examined and X-rays might be taken. In some cases, we can even take impressions of your mouth and teeth during your first visit which means you’ll only need to make two visits to our clinic.
About half a millimeter of enamel from your tooth surface will be removed to prepare each tooth for the veneer. Local anesthetic will be applied so you won’t feel any pain. A mold which has an impression of each tooth will be sent to a dental lab so that custom veneers can be manufactured. You’ll need to wait about two weeks for this.
Before your veneers are permanently cemented to your teeth, our dentist will check to make sure the veneers have the right color and size. Trimming might be necessary to ensure the veneers truly fit.
A special type of cement will be applied to the veneer so that it can be bonded to your teeth. The last steps involve taking off excess cement, polishing, and final evaluation. You may be asked to come back for a follow-up visit in a few weeks.
